Bringing a beloved character like Tali’Zorah to life in physical form required painstaking attention to detail, from her intricate suit patterns to her iconic hood design. The biggest challenge was achieving the perfect balance between the futuristic and hand-crafted feel, using high-quality resin to capture her likeness while ensuring each element feels like an authentic representation of her role in Mass Effect. Finding the right mix of materials to create a lasting finish was key, especially for the antique silver and gold accents that lend this piece its distinct, sophisticated look.

When producing this wooden box, the silver color was meant to imitate a metallic finish, but initially, regular paint couldn’t achieve the desired metallic effect. So we innovatively incorporated pearlescent powder. After numerous adjustments to the ratio, we finally achieved this stunning result that you see here. In fact, the actual product looks even better than the photos. This was one of the main challenges of this wooden box. Another detail is the laser-engraved surface. Its base mimics the effect of sand. Traditionally, this kind of sand texture is difficult to apply to wooden boxes, but thanks to our mastery of the laser machine, we used special programming to create this effect. The result is no longer a random, irregular pattern, but a beautifully consistent laser-engraved base.
