Challenge

The greatest challenge in creating the M-300 Claymore Miniature was translating the raw power and imposing design of this iconic Mass Effect shotgun into a small-scale replica without losing its authenticity. The original weapon’s heavy-duty appearance, with its rugged lines and mechanical details, needed to be scaled down to 47% of its size while still maintaining its aggressive look. Achieving this involved fine-tuning the molding process to avoid loss of detail, especially in the tight spaces of the gun’s ridges and mechanical components. Furthermore, ensuring the hand-painted finish accurately captured the worn, battle-hardened look of the in-game weapon added another layer of complexity. Balancing these visual intricacies while keeping the piece structurally sound in resin form was no easy feat, but it was essential to evoke the raw essence of the original design.

Process

This M-300 Claymore miniature is a masterclass in resin craftsmanship. Each piece undergoes a meticulous molding process, ensuring every groove, bolt, and detail from the game is captured in resin. The replica is hand-painted to mirror the gritty military aesthetic, while carefully applied decals bring to life the complex markings seen on the original in-game weapon. Attention to weight distribution ensures that the piece feels substantial and realistic, all while securely mounted on a sleek stand for display.
